She also has a few other projects upcoming, like the drama The Shuroo Process and the revenge movie The Daylong Brothers. RELATED: See Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s Daughter, Who’s Taking Over TV. Before she started getting into acting more seriously, Rainey embarked on a career as a musician under the name Rainsford. She released her first song, “Too Close,” in 2016, and her first EP, Emotional Support Animal, followed in 2018. The singer has continued to release music, including a few new songs in 2020. Rainey got to combine her passion for acting and music last year, as well. For the Freeform miniseries Love in the Time of Corona, she not only wrote an original song, “6ft from Love,” but her character, Elle, performed it in the final episode. Rainey told Entertainment Weekly in August 2020 that when she first signed on to do the show, she was just given “an overview of the character arc.” Once she started working on it, however, she said that the writers decided to make her character a musician, so Rainey could sing a song. “There’s enough of ourselves in these characters, but then it’s also separate from ourselves so that it’s still acting,” she said. Next, she will be playing the lead role on Netflix’s upcoming drama-comedy series Maid, which also stars her mom. On the show, Margaret plays Alex, a single mother struggling in poverty, and MacDowell plays her mother, Paula, a social butterfly and artist who tends to ignore Alex’s issues. Margaret has had some major acting gigs before Maid, as well. She starred as Jill Garvey on the HBO series The Leftovers from 2014 to 2017. After that, she made her way into movies. Qualley was in the 2016 dark comedy The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and starred in the Netflix supernatural thriller Death Note the following year. Then, she worked alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in the 2019 film Once Up a Time in Hollywood. She also appeared on FX’s miniseries Fosse/Verdon that same year. Margaret made her runway debut—then as Sarah Margaret Qualley—at 16 at New York Fashion Week in 2011. She’s since modeled for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week and appeared in print campaigns for the brand. She’s since signed with IMG Models and Uno Models, and has been on the cover of multiple magazines, including Vogue, Glamour, and Paper. While speaking to Glamour in 2017, Margaret expressed how fashion plays a role in her acting career, too. “Wardrobe is a huge part of feeling like the character,” she said. “Stepping into somebody else’s shoes changes the way you feel.” RELATED: See Pierce Brosnan’s Lookalike Son Paris on His Latest Magazine Cover. Both Rainey and Margaret didn’t enter the industry until their teens, and that’s because MacDowell knows the downsides of life in the spotlight. “Mostly, I told them that fame is a huge responsibility,” MacDowell told People in May 2017 of the advice she’s given her daughters. “And it’s not always easy to be recognizable all the time. It’s not really real. And to not lose sight of their true self because that’s going to be most important to being happy.” RELATED: See Kate Winslet’s 20-Year-Old Daughter, Who’s Taking Over Hollywood.
